The Rossland/Trail region is quickly becoming recognized as a spectacular golfing destination. With two championship 18 hole courses in the immediate area and seven others within a hour and a half hour drive, golf lovers will find hole after thrilling hole of championship golf to enjoy.The breathtaking mountains, valleys and rivers of the area provide jaw dropping backdrops and interesting and varied geography providing unique expeiences around every bend in the courses.
Golf has been a part of the Rossland/Trail summer life since the 1920's when the original nine hole Rossland municipal course was constructed by mining company Teck Cominco in the valley below Rossland. The turn of the millenium saw an ownership change at the Rossland course and the expansion of the nine hole course into a scenic and adventurous 18 hole Les Furber designed championship course complete with resort and residential development providing a sought after mountain golf experience.
Located alongside the mighty columbia river just north of Trail the Rossland Trail Country Club provides a riverside, valley championship 18 hole course offering a contrasting style of play to Redstone Resort.

Kate Weir
Maybe it’s in the name. Kate Weir first picked up a golf club at the age of eight. Though no relation to Canada’s most famous golfer Mike Weir, at age 18 she is now one of the budding talents on the B.C. women`s golf scene. Playing out of the Rossland-Trail Country Club, Weir was already an experienced competitor at the BC Junior Provincial and Juvenile National level before being recruited by the University of British Columbia to play for their varsity team. Kate was also selected for Team BC in the 2007 Junior America`s Cup in 2007.
